Side Grain Serving Board (Maple, Cherry, Walnut)

Our handmade Butcher Block, Cutting, Carving, Serving, Japanise Ki and Charcuterie boards are pieces of functional art that transcend practicality. Cared for properly, they can be centrepieces that last decades.

Rather than over-refining our boards, we prefer to embrace the natural beauty and character of our lumber by leaving natural imperfections that do not compromise the function or form of the piece.

We craft our boards using 100% excess materials created while building our heirloom furniture pieces. We only use domestic hardwood for our boards, making the most of the surplus materials available to us.

Side grain boards are known for their durability, character and minimal care. They are knife-friendly and hygienic, making them the perfect choice for the home cook or professional chef. Each side grain board is crafted exclusively with lumber leftover from building our heirloom furniture, minimizing our environmental footprint by supporting our sustainability project.

This board is made for the serious chef; we placed a handle on this one to help the outdoor chef with carrying big feasts back and forth. Unlike most of our boards, we did not put feet on this board but will if you ask at purchase. We also put a big bevel on both sides of this board to add to the rugged character. We hope this one finds a home where it gets well used for decades to come.
